View to the North East from the Castle. You can see the Firth of Forth and North Sea in the distance. On the right is Calton Hill where you can see The Nelson Monument (the tall structure) and The National Monument nicknamed Edinburgh's "disgrace" (a replica of the Parthenon in Greece that was never completed due to lack of funding).

On the very top of it is a time ball, which falls each day at 1.00pm precisely, to the accompaniment of the One O'clock Gun of the Edinburgh Castle. Originally the gun was fired to allow boats on the Firth of Forth to set their clocks.

We live just beyond the big steeple in behind the Ferris Wheel.
